Back to school program

Get on Board works with local schools to assist dropout middle and high school students to get back into school. The program advisors build a net of support and to connect parents to the school. These advisors, which meet during the school day, provide a structured way of enabling those supporting relationships to grow and thrive. The most effective advisory groups meet regularly, stay together for several years, and involve staff development that helps teachers support the academic, social, and emotional needs of their students. Also, Get on Board provides low-income children with backpacks and essential school supplies. Items are provided in partnership with retailers such as Target or Wal-Mart and other back to school programs.
